Job description

A forward-thinking and inclusive mainstream secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking to appoint an ambitious and skilled Design and Technology Teacher to join their team. This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a well-established department within a supportive and high-achieving school community.

The school is looking for a teacher who can deliver engaging and practical lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4. The ability to teach across a range of specialisms – such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics or Engineering – would be highly advantageous.

The Role:

  • Teaching Design and Technology across KS3 and KS4

  • Planning and delivering creative, hands-on lessons that inspire innovation

  • Supporting students in developing practical skills, technical knowledge and problem-solving abilities

  • Monitoring progress and providing clear, constructive feedback

  • Contributing to curriculum development and extra-curricular opportunities

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Holds QTS or an equivalent teaching qualification

  • Has experience teaching Design and Technology at secondary level

  • Demonstrates strong classroom management and organisational skills

  • Is passionate about practical learning and fostering creativity

  • Has the ability to motivate and stretch learners of all abilities
