Job description
A well-established and forward-thinking mainstream secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher to join their successful department. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner to contribute to a dynamic and creative faculty within a supportive school environment.
The successful candidate will teach Design & Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 for a suitably experienced teacher. The department delivers a broad and engaging curriculum, which may include specialisms such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Engineering. The school benefits from well-equipped workshops and specialist teaching spaces.

The ideal candidate will:

Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

Have experience teaching DT at KS3 and KS4

Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and practical expertise

Be confident in managing practical classroom environments safely and effectively

Have high expectations of student achievement and behaviour
-
Contribute positively to the wider life of the school
This role would suit an experienced DT Teacher seeking a new challenge or an Early Career Teacher looking to develop within a supportive and well-resourced department.
