Design & Technology Teacher

A well-established and forward-thinking mainstream secondary school in Bournemouth is seeking to appoint a qualified and enthusiastic Design & Technology Teacher to join their successful department. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled practitioner to contribute to a dynamic and creative faculty within a supportive school environment.

The successful candidate will teach Design & Technology across Key Stages 3 and 4, with the potential to teach Key Stage 5 for a suitably experienced teacher. The department delivers a broad and engaging curriculum, which may include specialisms such as Product Design, Resistant Materials, Graphics, or Engineering. The school benefits from well-equipped workshops and specialist teaching spaces.

The school prides itself on high expectations, strong leadership, and a positive learning culture where both staff and students are supported to thrive. The DT department works collaboratively, sharing resources and best practice to ensure high-quality teaching and strong student outcomes.

The ideal candidate will:

• Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

• Have experience teaching DT at KS3 and KS4

• Demonstrate strong subject knowledge and practical expertise

• Be confident in managing practical classroom environments safely and effectively

• Have high expectations of student achievement and behaviour

• Contribute positively to the wider life of the school

This role would suit an experienced DT Teacher seeking a new challenge or an Early Career Teacher looking to develop within a supportive and well-resourced department.
