Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with a secondary school in Bournemouth that is seeking a qualified Design & Technology Teacher to join their department.

This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate and practical educator to deliver high-quality DT lessons and contribute to a creative, skills-focused curriculum within a supportive school environment.

The Role

The successful Design & Technology Teacher will be responsible for teaching DT across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, delivering engaging lessons that develop students’ practical skills, creativity, and technical understanding. Responsibilities will include:

  • Planning and delivering structured DT lessons in line with the national curriculum

  • Teaching across areas such as resistant materials, product design, or graphics (depending on specialism)

  • Managing workshop environments safely and effectively

  • Assessing and monitoring pupil progress

  • Working collaboratively with the wider DT department

The role may be full-time or part-time, depending on the needs of the school and the availability of the successful candidate.

The Ideal Candidate

The school is keen to hear from:

  • Qualified DT Teachers with QTS or QTLS

  • Teachers with strong subject knowledge and practical classroom experience

  • Practitioners confident in behaviour management and workshop safety

  • ECTs and experienced teachers looking for a new opportunity in Bournemouth

Experience teaching Design & Technology at secondary level is essential.
