A busy school in Wakefield (WF1) are currently looking for a committed and proactive person to join their team of staff in supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health issues (SEMH). The role is similar to that of a Teaching Assistant or Behaviour Support Worker in that you will be supporting the class teacher and students in their learning.
The school is a Pupil Referral Unit that caters to Key Stage 1 - 4 students who have been excluded from mainstream education and go to this provision to access their learning.
The right candidate will be happy to support teachers and pupils in a range of ways from 1:1 individual support tailored to the pupil to working with small groups, helping to focus their learning and helping to engage those who are detached.
The role is full time and long term, the right candidate would be considered for a permanent post with the school.
This role would particularly suit:
