Outstanding college looking for a full time maternity leave cover starting on Monday 9th March for 12 months.

As a successful BTEC ICT teacher, you will be expected to be able to teach the subject area to a good standard. Applications are being encouraged from teachers of any experience level including newly qualified or those with more experience. Having been exposed to teaching the BTEC level of the curriculum is essential as well as any GCSE level experience being desirable but not essential by any means. Secondary or further education trained teachers are both encouraged to apply for immediate consideration.

The ICT department falls under the Science and Mathematics faculty at this highly supportive and very reputable college but has its own specific area and ‘personality’ within the college. The college being consistently over subscribed with high student numbers taking on ICT has fully kitted computer suites as well as a central interactive TV with large whiteboards. There is an A-level Computing team which works alongside the BTEC ICT team with the opportunity for regular collaboration and teamwork within the departments.

Key aspects of this BTEC ICT role:

  • Full time Maternity Leave Cover
  • Outstanding sixth form college situated in the central Manchester area
  • Competitive pay rate which is dependent upon experience; opportunity to earn up to GBP3100 per month
  • Start on Monday 9th March for the full 12 month period with option to take on a college based contract after an introduction via supply

This college is well known and part of a wider partnership with other colleges and schools in the area. With the role being required for 12 months, there is the great opportunity to not only secure this work but to secure work hereafter at this college or a partnered school/college. The college values teachers’ commitment to promoting students’ progress through regular assessment and encouragement. The college therefore has the ethos of high expectations and high attainment levels which should be echoed by the successful ICT teacher.

The college is situated in the central Manchester area making it very easy to get to via public transport or for those ICT teachers travelling by car. The A57, M602 and M60 ring road all service the college well along with it having an on site car park which is not always a feature with colleges in the area. The college is also serviced very well by buses with most of the central Manchester buses travelling near to the college.

Any teachers able to teach BTEC ICT and available from 9th March are highly encouraged to apply now by clicking the below link ensuring an up-to-date CV is attached.
