HLTA
Job description
Be the Difference Every School Needs – Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) | Full-Time | Bournemouth & Poole | September 2026
Some children need someone who believes in them.
Some teachers need someone they can rely on.
Every great school needs an outstanding Higher Level Teaching Assistant.
If you're someone who loves supporting children, enjoys the variety of working across different year groups and feels confident leading learning when needed, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
Teaching Personnel is proud to be working alongside a welcoming and supportive mainstream primary school in Bournemouth and Poole that is looking to appoint a full-time HLTA from September 2026.
This is far more than a classroom support role. You'll become a valued member of the school team, helping children grow in confidence, covering classes when required, delivering engaging interventions and working alongside teachers to ensure every pupil has the best possible learning experience.
What You'll Be Doing
Every day is different, but your role may include:
Delivering engaging lessons during teacher PPA time and planned absences.
Supporting pupils across EYFS, KS1 and KS2.
⭐ Running small group and one-to-one interventions.
Helping children overcome barriers to learning.
✨ Working closely with teachers and senior leaders to provide the very best outcomes for pupils.
We'd Love to Hear From You If You:
- Hold HLTA status or have extensive experience working within a UK primary school.
- Feel confident leading whole-class learning.
- Are positive, adaptable and enjoy working as part of a team.
- Build strong relationships with both children and colleagues.
- Want to make a genuine difference every single day.
