HLTA Covering across classes in Blackburn

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a friendly and supportive school in Blackburn. The successful candidate will work across all year groups, providing high-quality classroom support, delivering interventions, and leading lessons in the teacher’s absence.

Start Date: ASAP for the suitable educator.

Key Responsibilities

• Work across EYFS, Key Stage 1, and Key Stage 2 to support teaching and learning.

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons when required, covering classes in the absence of the teacher.

• Support individual and small groups of pupils to help them achieve learning goals.

• Lead targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy, and other curriculum areas.

• Assist teachers in planning, assessing, and tracking pupil progress.

• Contribute to creating a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment.

• Work collaboratively with teachers, support staff, and senior leaders to uphold school values and policies.

Requirements

• Hold a Level 4 HLTA qualification (or equivalent).

• Proven experience working across primary year groups.

• Strong classroom management and communication skills.

• Ability to deliver lessons confidently and maintain high standards of learning.

• A positive, flexible, and proactive attitude.

• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to apply).

Desirable

• Experience supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

• First Aid training or other relevant professional development.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
