Our partner secondary school located in the Tameside area of Greater Manchester is looking for a History teacher to join their Humanities department in September at the start of the new academic year. This is a full time History teaching position to fulfil an open vacancy with the History department. Any History teachers due to be available in September are highly encouraged to apply now for immediate consideration.
The Head of History said of this History teaching position:
"Due to a late departure of one of our History teachers, we are looking for a replacement to start with us in September. Whilst we are looking for a History teacher to join us on a supply basis for the first term; as there is an open vacancy, we are interested in hiring someone who is looking for a full time, long term permanent teaching position. The successful History teacher will be following a timetable consisting of year 7 - 10 in the main. We are accepting applications from NQTs to those more experienced"
The current Humanities department at this average sized secondary school is flourishing with a long standing team of teachers. The successfully appointed History teacher will therefore be joining an experienced team of individuals who collaborate on a regular basis. There is the opportunity to have input on schemes of work and move from strength to strength whilst teaching a subject they are passionate about.
This role would suit a History teacher of any experience level including a newly qualified teacher or one with more experience with the school able to support and put the NQT through their induction.
Highlights of this History teaching position:
- Full time History teacher required to start in September 2019
- Teachers of any experience level encouraged to apply: more experienced to NQTs
- Teach History across KS3 & KS4; year 7 - 10
- Ability to teach innovative and highly engaging History lessons having input on schemes of work
- Tameside based secondary school on the east side of Greater Manchester
- Pay range: MPS1-UPS3 - £23,720 - £39,406
This is a Good rated secondary school which has been noted for its highly supportive SLT and departmental staff. Whilst the school is classed as average in size, all staff and students are familiar to each other nurturing a positive learning environment. There are plenty of CPD opportunities through the school directly and with Teaching Personnel with the plan being that you would be employed through Teaching Personnel in the first instance before transitioning onto a school based contract.
The school has regular transport links with the local train station being a short walk away from this school. The school also has a large on site car park for the use of all staff.
The school prides itself on providing a positive atmosphere which is conducive to students' learning for all year groups. If you are a History teacher looking ahead to the new academic year for a new career teaching position, apply now for immediate consideration.
