History Teacher

Location: Poole
A thriving secondary school in Salisbury is looking to appoint a knowledgeable and engaging Teacher of History to join its successful Humanities faculty from April 2025. The school is proud of its strong academic ethos and is seeking a teacher who can bring the subject to life and make it meaningful to every learner.
Key responsibilities include:

Teaching History to KS3 and KS4 students
-
Designing lessons that encourage critical thinking, empathy, and historical analysis
-
Delivering topics ranging from the Norman Conquest to the Cold War with clarity and passion
-
Supporting students in developing essay writing, source analysis, and evaluation skills
-
Engaging in cross-curricular initiatives and thematic learning
The ideal candidate will:

Have a degree in History or a closely related subject
-
Be committed to making History accessible and enjoyable for all learners
-
Use a range of teaching strategies and digital tools to support learning
-
Be reflective, collaborative, and willing to contribute to whole-school initiatives

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
