History Teacher

Location: Poole

A thriving secondary school in Salisbury is looking to appoint a knowledgeable and engaging Teacher of History to join its successful Humanities faculty from April 2025. The school is proud of its strong academic ethos and is seeking a teacher who can bring the subject to life and make it meaningful to every learner.

Key responsibilities include:

• Teaching History to KS3 and KS4 students

• Designing lessons that encourage critical thinking, empathy, and historical analysis

• Delivering topics ranging from the Norman Conquest to the Cold War with clarity and passion

• Supporting students in developing essay writing, source analysis, and evaluation skills

• Engaging in cross-curricular initiatives and thematic learning

The ideal candidate will:

• Have a degree in History or a closely related subject

• Be committed to making History accessible and enjoyable for all learners

• Use a range of teaching strategies and digital tools to support learning

• Be reflective, collaborative, and willing to contribute to whole-school initiatives
