History Graduate - Wigan
Teaching Personnel are currently working alongside of client schools in Wigan to help them recruit graduates that are looking to become 'Outstanding' teachers of the future.
In particular we are looking to recruit a passionate History Graduate for one of our key client schools in Wigan. The school wish to appoint a teacher who is passionate about History and would like to pass on this passion to students aged 11-16 in a Secondary school setting prior to enrolling onto a teacher training course in the future.
History Graduate Position
- You will be supporting the class teacher working alongside students providing support with their coursework at GCSE level
- Opportunity to get involved in the planning of History lessons and see all sides of the teaching job
- Providing 1:1 tutoring with students who may need additional support
- You will have the opportunity to lead classes and certain areas with support from the class teacher
- Opportunity to provide general cover to other areas within the Humanities department.
The school are offering employment on a temporary basis for 12 months before you then secure a position on a teacher training course, either within the school or through a PGCE placement at university. You will have regular progress reviews with the Head of History in order to ensure that make steady improvement and are fully prepared prior to enrolling to your teacher training.
Position and Pay;
- History Graduate - Employment starting in February 2019 (Or sooner.)
- You will have the opportunity to earn up £1000-£1200 a month
- Opportunity to work in a supportive school that are committed to your future development.
- You will be asked to cover other areas within the schools Humanities department in the absence of the class teacher
The school that are currently recruiting for this role was graded 'Good' across the board in its latest Ofsted report and is situated in the Standish area of Wigan. The school is average in size and mainly serves the Roman Catholic communities of Wigan. There are an abundance of transport links that lead directly to the Wigan town centre and if travelling by car the school offers onsite car parking.
The school is located on the outskirts of the Wigan Town Centre and is in a close proximity to Orrell, Shevington and Standish. The A577 is a short drive away from the school for staff members who are commuting in their own transport and there are an abundance of public transport routes to the centre of Wigan making surrounding areas such as Bolton, Leigh and Ashton-in-Makerfield accessible.
