Higher Level Teaching Assistant – Poole
Teaching Personnel is currently seeking a motivated and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a school in Poole.
This is a rewarding opportunity for an education professional who is confident taking on additional responsibility and wants to make a meaningful contribution to pupils' academic, social and personal development.
The Opportunity
As an HLTA, you will play an important role in supporting high-quality teaching and learning. Your responsibilities may include:
- Leading lessons and structured learning activities
- Providing cover for teachers during PPA time and absence
- Working with individuals and small groups to deliver interventions
- Supporting pupils with SEND and additional needs
- Assisting teachers with planning and preparation
- Managing classroom routines and promoting positive behaviour
- Monitoring pupil engagement and progress
- Providing feedback to teachers on pupil development
- Encouraging independence, confidence and positive attitudes towards learning
- Working collaboratively with teachers and wider school staff
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience working as a Teaching Assistant or HLTA
- Strong classroom experience and the confidence to lead learning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A calm, patient and adaptable approach
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils
- Experience supporting children with a range of abilities and needs
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting pupil welfare
An HLTA qualification is advantageous, but experienced Teaching Assistants looking to progress will also be considered.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
