Job Title: Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)
Location: Burnley Primary School
Contract: Part-Time (4 days per week, with occasional 5-day weeks)
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: Pay dependant on experience and level of qualification
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our friendly and supportive primary school team in Burnley. This role involves working across year groups to provide high-quality learning support, deliver planned lessons, and contribute to the wider school community.
The successful candidate will:

Work collaboratively with teachers to support the planning, delivery, and assessment of learning across all primary year groups.

Deliver whole-class sessions, small group work, and targeted interventions as needed.

Use their initiative to adapt activities and resources to meet the needs of all learners.
-
Support with behaviour management and promote positive relationships within the classroom.

Contribute to the smooth running of the school and uphold our values and ethos.
About You
We are looking for someone who has:
-
Proven experience in a similar HLTA role or equivalent.
-
The ability to work flexibly across year groups from Early Years to Year 6.
-
A solid understanding of the primary curriculum.
-
Excellent communication skills with pupils, staff, and parents.
-
A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
Essential Requirements
-
HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
-
Relevant school-based experience in a teaching assistant or higher-level role.
-
Strong organisational skills and the ability to work independently.
Working Pattern
-
4 days per week (specific days to be confirmed).
-
Flexibility to work 5 days on occasion when required.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
