Are you looking for a role providing youth work in secondary schools in Northumberland? Confident working with students from KS3 - KS5? If so we have the perfect role for you!

Teaching Personnel are looking to appoint a Youth Worker Cover Supervisor for a comprehensive school in Northumberland. The role is temporary until Easter initially but has the possibility of being extended. You will be expected to provide extra support within the school where required - this will be within mixed lessons and may be with small groups of pupils and on a 1:1 basis also. The main role however, involves covering pre-set lessons and ensuring all pupils are engaged with the tasks left by the class teacher.

The school is located in Hexham and currently has over 1000 pupils on roll. Students are mostly well behaved and the school prides it self on its inclusive and caring atmosphere. The SLT has a continued commitment to the performing arts, sports and a wealth of extra-curriculars which ensures all learners are fully supported and challenged to achieve their potential.

An ideal candidate will have:

  • Youth working qualifications
  • Experience working with Children at a varied age range
  • A friendly and patient approach to teaching
  • Good behaviour management skills
