Health Care Assistant - York

The Job:

  • To support Primary aged pupils with a range of Special Educational Needs, including Autism, Physical Disabilities, Learning Difficulties and Sensory Impairments
  • Assist the Class Teacher with the delivery of cross-curricular subjects
  • Encourage play based learning with repitition of core activities
  • Incourage independance where possible
  • Assist with outdoor activities such as riding a bike
  • Liaise with other education professions such as Social Workers, Child Psychologists and Physiotherapists 
  • Support with School trips such as offsite swimming lessons

The School:

  • An inclusive SEN School part of a large Multi Academy Trust in North Yorkshire
  • Provides education for 4-11 year olds with an education health care plan in place
  • Graded as 'Good' by Ofsted in their most recent inspection
  • Up to 15 classes with an average of 8 students in each class
  • Supportive leadership team with great career opportunities
