Graduate Teaching Assistants

Are you a recent Graduate looking for your first role within the education sector?

Teaching Personnel work alongside several secondary schools in Bury, aiding them in recruiting Graduates to fill Teaching Assistant vacancies. These roles are a great way to gain more experience within a secondary school before applying for a teacher training programme.

  • Full-time and part-time roles available from September 2019 until the end of the academic year.
  • Work in several Secondary schools across Bury.
  • Gain experience prior to a teacher training programme.
  • Opportunity to work with pupils who may display behavioural or learning difficulties.
  • Attractive rates of pay, earn up to ÂŁ300 per week depending on your experience.
  • Support pupils aged 11-16 within a number of subjects such as English and Maths.

Working as a Teaching Assistant in one of our partner schools, you will be expected to:

  • Support pupils in both small groups and occasionally on a 1:1 basis.
  • Provide support within several subjects.
  • Aid the class teacher to ensure they have all the relevant support they need within a classroom.
  • Promote positive behaviour management.
  • Support students with varying levels of learning ability including pupils with behavioural or learning difficulties.

Application requirements

  • You must have experience working with children or young people or have transferrable skills to work within the education sector.
  • Any experience with behavioural or learning difficulties is also desirable but not essential.

Our client schools are located across Bury with access from surrounding areas such as Bolton and Salford via the M66 and A58 for candidates with their own transportation. For non-drivers, the schools can be accessed by a number of public transport links from surrounding areas including Bury, Bolton, Salford and central Manchester.
