Graduate Teaching Assistant
Location: Erdington
Start Date: September 2025
Salary: Competetive (dependent on experience)
About the role:
Teaching Personnel is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner schools in Erdington. This role is ideal for a graduate who is eager to take their first step into teaching and gain valuable experience working in a school environment.
Role Responsibilities:

Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across a range of subjects.

Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning and boost confidence.

Assist with classroom management, behaviour support and maintaining a positive learning environment.

Provide targeted intervention to help students reach academic and personal goals.

Support pupils with additional learning needs (SEN) under teacher guidance.
-
Help prepare lesson resources, classroom materials and displays.
-
Supervise students during lessons, transitions.
-
Contribute to the wider school community by supporting extracurricular activities where possible.
Role Requirements:

A degree in any subject area.

A genuine interest in education and a desire to pursue a career in teaching or school-based work.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with young people.

Patience, resilience and the ability to motivate and engage students.
-
Organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
-
Some experience working with young people (tutoring, mentoring, coaching, volunteering or similar) is desirable but not essential.
-
Have a DBS on the update service or willingess to obtain one.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
