About the role: 

Teaching Personnel is seeking a dependable and enthusiastic Graduate Teaching Assistant to join one of our partner schools in Erdington. This role is ideal for a graduate who is eager to take their first step into teaching and gain valuable experience working in a school environment. 

Role Responsibilities: 

• Support teachers in delivering engaging lessons across a range of subjects.

• Work with small groups or individual students to reinforce learning and boost confidence.

• Assist with classroom management, behaviour support and maintaining a positive learning environment.

• Provide targeted intervention to help students reach academic and personal goals.

• Support pupils with additional learning needs (SEN) under teacher guidance.

• Help prepare lesson resources, classroom materials and displays.

• Supervise students during lessons, transitions. 

• Contribute to the wider school community by supporting extracurricular activities where possible.

Role Requirements: 

• A degree in any subject area.

• A genuine interest in education and a desire to pursue a career in teaching or school-based work.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with young people.

• Patience, resilience and the ability to motivate and engage students.

• Organisational skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.

• Some experience working with young people (tutoring, mentoring, coaching, volunteering or similar) is desirable but not essential.

• Have a DBS on the update service or willingess to obtain one.
