Job description

Do you have a keen interest in pursuing a career in teaching or education?

Teaching Personnel are in collaboration with a mainstream secondary school in the Coventry area, to appoint an enthusiastic, positive and reliable individual who can work full time as a teaching assistant. 

 

You will be responsible for supporting vulnerable pupils and children with special educational needs and assisting the class teacher with various activities. 

 

We want to hear from you if you have:

- Recent, valuable experience working as a teaching assistant or in a supporting role within a school/education setting

- Aspirations to become a teacher in the future and want to gain valuable experience within a school

- Experience working with children in any capacity, sports coach, after school clubs, volunteering

- Experience supporting/working with children or young people with special educational needs

- Enthusiasm and a genuine passion for education and making a real difference

- Any relevant Teaching Assistant or equivalent qualifications (desired but not essential)

 

What does the job involve?

- Supporting the class teacher with the smooth running of the class

- Working with children on a 1:1 and small group basis, providing tailored support to help their learning and development

- Provide interventions to support children's learning

- Provide administrative assistance to the class teacher- sorting out relevant resources for the lessons

- Adapt to pupil's requirements on a daily basis

- Working with class teacher to adhere to children's EHCPs (where required)

- Supporting children with special educational needs such as autism, ADHD, dyslexia and behavioural challenges

 

Important Details:

- Full Time TA role

- Location: Secondary School, CV7

- Hours: Full Time, term time only 

- Start Date: September 2025

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
