Teaching Personnel is working in partnership with an Ofsted-rated "Outstanding" secondary school in Durham, seeking a motivated and enthusiastic graduate to join their team as a Teaching Assistant from September 2025.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone who is looking to gain hands-on experience in a school setting before pursuing teacher training or another education-focused career path.

Role Type: Full-time, Temporary

Key Responsibilities:

• Support students with a range of learning needs, including SEN and sensory impairments
• Assist with classwork in subjects such as reading, writing, and behaviour management
• Build positive, professional relationships with students and staff
• Help ensure students can access learning materials and engage fully in lessons
• Monitor and encourage student progress in collaboration with teaching staff

• A graduate with strong written and verbal communication skills
• Willingness to support pupils from a range of social and educational backgrounds
• Organised, reliable, and capable of working collaboratively as part of a team
• An interest in education and a desire to develop professionally
• A positive, proactive approach to supporting young people

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
