Seeking Graduate for Teaching Assistant role
- Graduate Teaching Assistant Role - Chorley
- Immediate start, working full-time on a long term basis (30 hours per week)
- Key Stage 1 (Year 2)
- General Classroom support and English and Maths Interventions
The Head Teacher of an Ofsted-graded ‘GOOD’ primary school located in CHORLEY is seeking a university graduate to work alongside their Year 2 Class Teacher to work alongside small groups of lower and higher attaining pupils on the run up to KS1 assessments and also provide general class support. The role is to start as soon as possible; the working day will be 08:45 until 15:15. The vacancy has arisen due to a recent resignation; therefore, although the role is initially temporary, it is possible that the school will offer a school contract to the right person. This role is 30 hours per week with a competative rate of pay of GBP9.50-GBP10.50 per hour.
If you are qualified with a degree in psychology or in education with a SEN specialism, then this could be the ideal role for you! You would work closely alongside the Class Teacher to provide specialist support with English and Maths and also provide support to small groups of pupils. The school ethos promoted encouragement and a nurturing environment. Previous experience of working within school is desirable; however, if you have worked with primary age children in a similar capacity, we welcome your application.
Situated on the outskirts of Chorley town centre, this primary school is one-form entry with the majority of pupils arriving from White British backgrounds. The proportion of pupils who have special educational needs is in line with the national average, as is the proportion of disadvantaged pupils. Children who attend are proud of their school and the work that they do. Staff lead by example and are ambitious for each and every pupil.
If you are interested in this Teaching Assistant position and would like to be considered for the role, please submit your CV via the "Apply Now" link or call Amy in the Teaching Personnel Lancashire Primary Branch for further information.
All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. Please see teachingpersonnel.com/faqs for details.
All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay.
Teaching Personnel is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children. All candidates must undertake or have undertaken a valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Full assistance provided.
