Graduate Teaching Assistant

Our team at Teaching Personnel Bristol can help.

A number of our client Secondary schools in Bristol are seeking Graduate Teaching Assistants for a variety of roles. Most of the roles available are full time but some part time roles are available.

  • Working hours: 8.30-3.30
  • Full time & Part time roles
  • £270-£325 weekly pay

What does a Graduate Teaching Assistant do?

Working as a Teaching Assistant may encompass many different roles within a school. The most common role will be providing 1:1 support to students - these students may have varying Special Educational Needs.

There may also be opportunities within the school for you to provide interventions & tutoring of your specialist subject.

Some students may be disengaged and need you to be a "Behaviour Buddy". Working as a Behaviour Buddy not only will you have to encourage to student to engage with their studies, but also act as a role model to help combat their behavioural needs.

Teaching Assistant Requirements:

  • Strong academic background
  • Positive, motivated and reliable individual
  • Enhanced DBS - Teaching Personnel can provide guidance on how to apply for this.
  • Available to work normal school hours

The schools that we work with are looking for graduates and those who are in the early stages of their education career because they like to mould you to their school ethos and train you on the job. If you have a positive attitude and are willing to throw yourself into the role and learn then that's all we ask of you.

No previous school experience is necessary - however if you do have experience working/volunteering with children in some capacity this is desirable.
