Teaching Internship

Are you looking at taking the next step in your career working with young people, ideally with aspirations of becoming a qualified secondary school teacher?

Teaching Personnel are working to help provide graduates a route into teaching which would include two years of fully paid experience and at the end of those years, the graduates will be qualified teachers with QTS.

Future Teachers is a graduate scheme in which graduates with aspirations of teaching will be given the necessary experience, support and training to be successful in the initial stages of their career. The programme was designed to offer a fully paid route into teaching, ensuring graduates are able to gain an introduction into teaching without further financial commitments.

What are the requirements?

  • A degree, ideally specialising in Maths, English, Science, Humanities, Computer Science, Languages or PE but all specialisms will be considered as the training provider can support with Subject Knowledge Enhancement Courses.
  • A willingness to work hard and learn along the way
  • The desire to support young people and help them achieve their potential in education
  • Availability to work full-time from September 2024

Whilst enrolled on the scheme, successful applicants will have access to a number of our partner secondary schools and academies all of whom have excellent standards and a successful track record of training excellent teachers and being judged highly on their student outcomes. We work across Manchester, Greater Manchester and Merseyside so graduates from all of the Universities in the region will be able to register and find a suitably located placement.

Whilst deployed at one of the schools as a Future Teacher, you will undertake a number of roles including classroom support, cover supervising which involves leading lessons of planned schemes of work and mentoring students on a one-to-one basis.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
