Cover Supervisor needed at Secondary Schools in Manchester

Teaching Personnel are working with thriving and vibrant secondary schools located in the heart of Manchester city centre.

Our client schools are committed to providing a high-quality education for all students, promoting a love of learning, and encouraging students to reach their full potential. We are currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Cover Supervisor to support at a number of these schools. 

Job Description:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that students complete set work and maintain appropriate behaviour. The successful candidate will be able to manage a classroom effectively and ensure that students remain on task. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that students complete set work and maintain appropriate behaviour.
  • Managing classroom behaviour effectively and maintaining a positive learning environment.
  • Providing administrative support to the school as required.
  • Liaising with teaching staff and senior leadership to ensure continuity of teaching and learning.
  • Providing feedback on student progress and behaviour as required.
  • Supporting the school’s values and ethos, promoting equality and diversity at all times.

Qualifications:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification is desirable, but not essential.
  • Experience of working with young people in an educational setting is essential.
  • Experience of supervising classes in an educational setting is desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
  • The ability to manage classroom behaviour effectively is essential.
  • A DBS check is required for this role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
