The new Learning Support Assistants will be Psychology Graduates with a keen interest in special educational needs and a calm and caring nature. You will be keen to follow your heart to help children with special educational needs and this role will be building up valuable experience ahead of you specialising in either clinical or educational Psychology or for some graduates this will be the first move into becoming a Primary School Teacher.
The ideal new Learning Support Assistants will have some experience of helping children or adults with special educational needs although this is not a essential. Above all, you must have the right temperament, be able to be flexible and adaptable in your approach and give your undivided attention to the children and the role for the full academic year or maybe longer.
The Learning Support Assistants will be working with the children in class to ensure that the class teaching is absorbed and understood. You will also be required to work one-on-one with the children outside for intervention work, liaising with the educational psychologist and other outside agencies.
The SEN school caters for Primary and Secondary pupils. It prides itself on its inclusive approach and the attentive nature in which it spends time to develop each and every one of its pupils.
