“We are looking for a graduate mentor who is experienced in supporting young people from any setting and looking to progress further into the education sector. The successful graduate mentor will be working alongside teaching and support staff at this highly supportive secondary school, providing support to students who are aged between 11 and 16 years old. Focussing primarily on the core subjects of Maths and English, any graduates with either relevant degree specialisms or a natural flare for Literacy and Numeracy are encouraged to show their interest”

Our client secondary school situated in the Wythenshawe area of South Manchester is looking for a graduate mentor to start with them upon schools reopening. This is an excellent opportunity for a recent graduate (or due to graduate) to gain experience within a secondary school environment on a full-time basis supporting students in the lower ability sets of Maths and English (Numeracy and Literacy). The students that require further support have been identified as being behind their peers with regards attainment levels and this will only become more prevalent as the current school closure continues.

The successful graduate mentor will ideally have existing experience of working with individuals aged 11 - 16 in a previous setting which could be as a Youth Worker, Tutor, supporting in a sports club or any other relevant setting.

  • Full time graduate mentor required: upon schools reopening
  • Provide support in Maths and English primarily with options for support in other areas
  • Prior experience is ideal of supporting and working with young people
  • Highly supportive senior leadership team at this secondary school
  • Competitive pay rate dependent upon experience, potential to earn up to GBP400 per week

Any graduates who have degrees in Maths or English based subjects are highly encouraged to apply now as subject knowledge is a key aspect of this support role.

This secondary school is situated in the South Manchester area of Wythenshawe bordering between Altrincham, and Sale and Stockport. The Greater Manchester Metrolink services this area on a very regular basis making it highly accessible all of Manchester as well as being situated near to the M56 motorway network.
