Teaching Personnel are looking to recruit someone to provide Maths interventions to students of mixed ability at one of our partner schools in the Levenshulme area. Our client is an 11 – 16 mixed gender, Ofsted good school, the pay for this role is £385 - £485 per week.  The role starts in September and will initially run until the end of the academic year with the school looking to make the position permanent, dependant on performance.

Our partner school is looking for someone with a positive attitude who can engage students from a wide range of multicultural backgrounds and ability levels. We are considering candidates of all experience levels; some ideal applicants would be:

  • Graduate with a Maths degree, looking to build experience in a classroom setting.
  • Learning Support Assistant looking for a new role within a great team.
  • Anyone with experience supporting children and/or adults with additional needs.

Our client is above the national average for pupils whose first language is not English, therefore it is vital the successful applicant can connect with these students to ensure they take the most from your sessions. You may also support students with SEN requirements, these pupils could have a wide range of additional needs from things like Dyslexia or colour blindness to Autism or ADHD. You will receive all relevant training through the school’s high quality training regime to make sure you can provide the best support you can, there are also a variety of CPD courses available for the successful applicant via Teaching Personnel or internally within the school.

Some key skills and attributes for the role:

  • Patience, all learners have different speeds and processes, it is important you can allow them to learn how they feel confident and differentiate your teaching.
  • You must be able to develop the students across the subject, showing clear development from when you began supporting the student.
  • Able to provide rich and valuable feedback to pupils highlighting their improvements and constructively pointing out areas that require work.
  • Be friendly and engaging to build a rapport with students, so they can produce their best work whilst working with you.

The successful applicants will need an Enhanced DBS on the update service which can be applied for through Teaching Personnel and two professional references will be required for consideration with certain character references being acceptable.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
