The school considered based in the Chichester area, considered to be a ‘good’ school are seeking to appoint a graduate learning support assistant for September 2020 to support the development, welfare and outcomes for their students.
At this school, pupil’s needs are consistently met by their well established culture and team of learning support staff. Vulnerable students are well looked after and students are given support in managing their behaviour, developing skills, general knowledge, common sense and personal endeavour to set them up well for the future. The school operates a high quality provision for students with special educational needs. They have a team of highly qualified staff work collaboratively with student’s families, external agencies and staff to provide essential teaching and specific intervention to enable ever child to reach their potential.
The SENCO is looking to appoint a bright graduate preferably with a curriculum related degree with excellent interpersonal skills, prior experience working with children and someone who is able to demonstrate good literacy and numeracy skills. Your role will be to work as directed by the SENCO with individual students and groups of students, supporting the monitoring of progress for individuals. In addition to this, you will support designated colleagues in the preparation and presentation of learning resources of both an academic and pastoral nature. You will also be required to be fully involved in with all special activities related to the school and to provide support to extended enrichment provision as directed.
The ideal candidate would be someone who aspiring to be a teacher, is committed to supporting and improving outcomes for SEN students at KS3 and KS4. You should be personable and nurturing and able to build excellent rapport with students and staff and have a good sense of humour.
