The Future Teacher Programme is the ideal stepping stone for those looking to embark on a teacher training course in the future.
Our Future Teachers Programme involves a 12 month teaching assistant apprenticeship, prior to beginning your teacher training at an outstanding training school located in Greater Manchester.
Graduates of all subjects including; Maths, English, Science, Humanities, Languages and Physical Education are all welcome to apply to this programme. Those with direct or relatable experience working with secondary education are highly encouraged to apply.

- Teaching Assistant roles from September 2019 start - July 2020 followed by beginning your teacher training in September 2020
- Opportunity to gain all the necessary experience required as a teaching assistant to be prepare you to be successful on your teacher training
- Earn up to £1300 per month
Throughout the Future Teachers placement, all graduates will be allocated a teaching assistant placement whereby you will work on-site at the school and support pupils in a range of areas and subjects (predominately your subject specialism). This will be a full time role with an allocated school in Greater Manchester where you will undertake a variety of tasks and activities that will give you a good understanding as to the role of a teacher. A significant proportion of these tasks and activities will also benefit your subject knowledge as you will focus on raising pupil attainment, supporting special needs pupils, covering classes, assisting with planning, preparing lessons and developing schemes of work.
Overview of responsibilities held during Future Teachers Programme:
- Supporting within various subject departments, working 1:1 to support the staff team, class teacher and faculty lead.
- Work 1:1 with pupils, in smaller dedicated groups and deliver pre-planned subject specific lessons where required with full guidance and support, within key subjects such as English, Maths or Science.
- Lead lessons with the guidance of class teachers with pre-set work provided
- Positively manage behaviour through school behaviour policies, promoting a growth mind-set, and engaging pupils through dynamic support with teaching and learning.
