Job Title: SEN Teaching Assistant
Location: Tidworth Area
Start Date: September 2026
Pay: £90 – £94 per day

We are currently seeking a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a school based in the Tidworth area, starting in September 2026.

This rewarding role involves working closely with a small group of children within a Resource Base, supporting them to access learning, build confidence, and develop key social and communication skills.

A Resource Base is a specialist provision within a mainstream school designed to support pupils with additional needs. It provides a smaller, more structured learning environment while still allowing pupils to integrate into mainstream classes where appropriate. This approach ensures students receive tailored support while remaining part of the wider school community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide targeted support to a small group of pupils with SEN within the Resource Base
  • Support the development of social, emotional, and communication skills
  • Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO, and other support staff
  • Promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment
  • Adapt support strategies to meet individual learning and behavioural needs

The Ideal Candidate

  • Ideally has previous experience working with SEN or a strong understanding of SEN needs
  • Demonstrates patience, dedication, and empathy
  • Maintains an open-minded and flexible approach when supporting pupils
  • Is proactive, reliable, and passionate about supporting young people
  • Has strong communication and teamwork skills

Recruitment Process

A trusted consultant will arrange an interview to:

  • Discuss your previous experience
  • Explore classroom and safeguarding scenarios
  • Ensure all necessary documentation is completed, including:
    • Right to Work
    • References
    • Enhanced DBS

Successful candidates will also complete Safeguarding and Thrive training before starting the role.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
