Functional Skills Tutor – Stretford (M32)

We are looking for a dedicated Functional Skills tutor to support learners in the Stretford (M32) area. This role is ideal for experienced educators who are passionate about helping individuals gain confidence and achieve qualifications in English, Maths, and ICT.

You will be working with learners who may be outside mainstream education, supporting them on a 1:1 basis in their homes or local community settings. Sessions are tailored to each learner, focusing on building essential skills and preparing them for accredited Functional Skills assessments.

What the role involves:

  • Delivering engaging 1:1 tuition in English, Maths and ICT

  • Adapting lesson plans to suit each learner’s level and goals

  • Supporting learners of different ages and abilities, including those with additional needs

  • Encouraging confidence and progress through positive, structured teaching

  • Recording progress and providing constructive feedback

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience teaching or tutoring Functional Skills (English, Maths, ICT)

  • Knowledge of Functional Skills qualifications and assessments

  • Strong communication skills and a flexible, supportive approach

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

What you’ll get in return:

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
