Job description

Tutor Opportunities – Tameside

We are looking for dedicated tutors to support learners across the Tameside area. This is a rewarding role where you will provide 1:1 or small group tuition to pupils who need additional support outside of mainstream school settings.

Learners may be out of school for a variety of reasons, including SEND, SEMH, anxiety or gaps in education, and your role will be to help them build confidence, re-engage with learning, and achieve their potential.

What the role involves:

  • Delivering personalised tuition in core subjects (Maths, English, and occasionally others)

  • Planning and adapting lessons to meet individual needs and learning styles

  • Creating a supportive learning environment that encourages progress

  • Keeping brief records of sessions and learner achievements

What we’re looking for:

  • Experience working with children or young people (teaching, tutoring or support work)

  • Strong subject knowledge in Maths and/or English

  • Ability to engage learners with different needs and abilities

  • Confident working independently on a 1:1 basis

  • Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
