 Flexible Tutoring Opportunities in Irlam (M44)

Do you have experience working 1:1 with children in Primary or Secondary education?
Would you like the chance to support pupils outside of mainstream school settings?

We’re looking for tutors to work with children who may have additional needs or are in care, providing tailored face-to-face sessions in their homes or local spaces such as libraries.

This role is perfect for newly qualified teachers, teaching assistants, or anyone with experience supporting children with additional needs who’s looking for flexible, rewarding work.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Delivering engaging lessons in English, Maths, and Science (and other subjects where needed)

  • Planning resources to match each child’s individual needs

  • Supporting progress and building confidence

  • Using behaviour strategies to keep sessions focused and positive

  • Tracking progress and providing constructive feedback

What we’re looking for:
✔️ Experience working with children or young people
✔️ Ability to plan and deliver creative, engaging sessions
✔️ Skills to help learners catch up and reach their goals
✔️ SEN experience (desirable but not essential)
✔️ A current DBS (on the Update Service) – support available if you need one

Role details:

  • Location: Irlam (M44) area, with excellent road, bus, and train links

  • Hours: Monday–Friday, approx. 9:00–16:00 (flexible)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
