We’re currently recruiting Functional Skills Tutors in Hull to guide a growing number of young learners needing extra support. As part of our team, you’ll bring enthusiasm, professionalism, and a strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.

Role Details:

• Pay: £25 - £30 per hour

• Location: Tutoring may take place in students’ homes or local community venues such as libraries. A full UK driving license is preferred.

• Hours: Flexible, part-time — tailored around your schedule.

What We’re Looking For:

• Excellent English communication skills to connect clearly with students

• A genuine passion for helping young people succeed

• Enhanced DBS (on the update service) or willingness to obtain one through TP-Tutors

• Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), or other additional needs

• Prior teaching or tutoring experience is highly desirable but not essential

• Knowledge of the Functional Skills curriculum and assessments in both Maths and English

• Professional references from your two most recent employers, covering at least 24 months in the last 10 years
