Mathematics and English Functional Skills play a crucial role in shaping students’ futures. While some excel naturally, others find these subjects challenging and daunting. At TP-Tutors, we’re passionate about supporting those learners, helping them recognize that Functional Skills in both Maths and English open doors to success in education and the workplace.

We’re currently recruiting Functional Skills Tutors in Hull to guide a growing number of young learners needing extra support. As part of our team, you’ll bring enthusiasm, professionalism, and a strong commitment to safeguarding and student wellbeing.
Role Details:

Pay: £25 - £30 per hour

Location: Tutoring may take place in students’ homes or local community venues such as libraries. A full UK driving license is preferred.

Hours: Flexible, part-time — tailored around your schedule.
What We’re Looking For:
-
Excellent English communication skills to connect clearly with students
-
A genuine passion for helping young people succeed
-
Enhanced DBS (on the update service) or willingness to obtain one through TP-Tutors
-
Experience supporting students with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH), or other additional needs
-
Prior teaching or tutoring experience is highly desirable but not essential

Knowledge of the Functional Skills curriculum and assessments in both Maths and English
-
Professional references from your two most recent employers, covering at least 24 months in the last 10 years

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
