The Head Teacher of a large Secondary School in Preston is seeking a skilled Teacher of Maths who is forward-thinking, enthusiastic and has the energy and determination to join his successful Mathematics department. This exciting Teacher of Maths position commences from September 2019 and is on a full-time basis until the end of the new academic year.

If successful, you will be joining a supportive learning environment, characterised by transparent management with the motivation and leadership knowledge required to pragmatically make positive changes to the school team. The Maths department has recently moved into a new building with access to state of the art resources within modern facilities. For further information please see the details below;

  • Full-time Teacher of Maths required from September 2019.
  • Applications are welcome from experienced and newly qualified Teachers of Maths.
  • Must hold QTS alongside relevant subject specialist qualification within Maths.
  • Located in the centre of Preston
  • Pay in line with MPS/UPS £23,720 - £39,406.

The successful Teacher of Maths will be working under the careful guidance of the Senior Leadership Team, working towards raising pupil attainment across the board at all levels of learning. Having seen a complete restructure across the staff team there is now 5 members of teaching staff including the Head and Acting Head of Maths taking on full teaching timetables. Accountable to Curriculum Leader during and throughout post.

  • Promote outstanding teaching and learning and demonstrate outstanding practice.
  • Identify clear objectives and content within the maths faculty for all pupils including how these will be taught, evaluated and assessed.
  • Organise a stimulating and inspiring learning environment bets suited to each individual pupil.
  • Ensure regulations regarding Health and Safety are maintained both within the Maths department and the school.

The school is heavily over subscribed and boasts just over 950 pupils on roll aged 11-16. The school can be easily accessed by major transport links, and public transport.
