TP Tutors is expanding across Dorchester and the surrounding areas, and we are seeking dedicated, compassionate SEN Tutors to deliver high-quality 1:1 and small group tuition.

Role: SEN Tutor (1:1 & Small Group Specialist Support)

Location: Dorchester & surrounding areas – learner homes / community settings / flexible delivery
Hours: Flexible – Part-Time or Full-Time


How You’ll Make a Difference

  • Plan and deliver personalised sessions aligned with EHCP targets and individual learning needs

  • Support pupils with SEND including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, MLD, and other additional needs

  • Assess starting points and create structured, achievable progression plans

  • Re-engage learners who may be out of mainstream education or struggling in traditional settings

  • Use adaptive, differentiated, and therapeutic-informed strategies

  • Build trusting relationships that support emotional wellbeing alongside academic growth

  • Provide regular progress feedback to families, schools, and TP Tutors

Your role will not only support attainment — it will help rebuild confidence, independence, and belief.


What We’re Looking For

  • Experience supporting children or young people with Special Educational Needs

  • Strong understanding of differentiated and inclusive teaching approaches

  • Experience working with learners with SEND, SEMH, or additional barriers to education

  • A patient, resilient, and empathetic approach

  • Strong safeguarding knowledge and professional conduct

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
