Food Technology Teacher in South Central Manchester - January to April

A secondary school situated in south central Manchester is looking to appoint a full-time Food Technology teacher from January to April; initially for one full term with opportunity to extend until the end of the year. The school is willing to take on an experienced Food Technology specialist or those that are Newly Qualified in Food Technology.

This is a full time teaching post where you will be expected to plan and organise your own work but would be provided support by an established Food Technology department. There will be assistance with the practical lessons as well as a scheme of work to plan lesson from. The secondary school has worked with local primary schools and the community with food projects in the past. They also have highly engaging students that enjoy their food technology lessons.

The School is located in the Chorlton area with a number of tram stations near by and is just off the two of the main roads in south central Manchester for those who drive. This Mixed secondary school has a high number of students with Pupil premium where they are funded for extra support. The school also has a high number of EAL and SEN students whilst maintaining progressive grades throughout key stage 3 and 4.

After the contract period there could be an opportunity extend the contract up until the academic year in July. More importantly there is the prospect to learn from the experienced staff and develop Food Technology teaching skills. It is essential for this position to have a QTS with experience in Food Technology.
