Finance Assistant
Job description
Pleckgate High School is a highly successful and vibrant school, committed to providing the very best for our students, staff and wider community. To support our continued growth and high standards, we are looking to appoint a full-time Finance Officer to join our team as soon as possible.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated and skilled individual to play a key role in the effective management of the school’s finances. Working closely with the School Business Manager and wider support staff team, you will ensure that financial systems run smoothly, accurately and efficiently, supporting the day-to-day operations and long-term planning of the school.
Key Responsibilities:
- Managing and maintaining financial records and transactions using SAGE software
- Processing invoices, payments, orders and reconciliations
- Assisting with the preparation of budgets, reports and financial forecasts
- Ensuring compliance with financial policies, procedures and regulations
- Providing timely financial information to support decision-making within the school
- Liaising with suppliers, staff and external stakeholders in relation to financial matters
What we’re looking for:
We are seeking a candidate who has:
- Proven experience in a finance role, ideally within education or the public sector
- Strong working knowledge of SAGE (essential)
- Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
- The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
- A proactive and professional approach, with strong communication skills
- The ability to work independently, as well as collaboratively as part of a team

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
