Job description
EYFS 1:1 Teaching Assistant (with SEN and Phonics Support)
We are seeking a caring, enthusiastic and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our Early Years Foundation Stage team. This rewarding role will involve providing 1:1 support for a pupil with additional needs, while also playing a significant part in delivering and reinforcing phonics learning across the classroom.
The successful candidate will:
- Provide tailored 1:1 support to a child with Special Educational Needs (SEN), helping them to access learning and develop independence.
- Work closely with the class teacher, SENCO and external professionals to implement support strategies and interventions.
- Deliver and reinforce phonics teaching through small-group and individual sessions.
- Support children's communication, language and early literacy development.
- Build positive relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues.
- Contribute to creating a nurturing, inclusive and stimulating learning environment.
We are looking for someone who:
- Has experience working within EYFS and/or supporting children with SEN.
- Has a good understanding of early reading development and phonics programmes.
- Is patient, adaptable and committed to helping every child achieve their potential.
- Can use initiative while working effectively as part of a team.
- Demonstrates excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
