Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Full-Time Role – September Start
Stanley
Monday to Friday (Full-Time, Term Time Only)
Supply Contract

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Stanley for a full-time role starting in September.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HLTA or a confident Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step, supporting teaching and learning across the school and making a real difference to pupil progress.


The Role

As a HLTA, you will:

  • Support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across the primary age range
  • Lead whole-class sessions in the absence of the class teacher
  • Deliver targeted interventions and small group support to pupils
  • Work closely with class teachers to plan and prepare learning activities
  • Support pupils with varying learning needs, including those with SEND
  • Help to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
  • Monitor and provide feedback on pupil progress

What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold HLTA status or equivalent qualification (or significant relevant experience)
  • Have experience working within a primary school setting
  • Be confident leading whole-class teaching when required
  • Demonstrate strong behaviour management and communication skills
  • Be adaptable, proactive, and enthusiastic
  • Have experience supporting pupils with SEND (desirable)
  • Be reliable and committed to a full-time position

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
