Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Full-Time Role – September Start

Monday to Friday (Full-Time, Term Time Only)

Teaching Personnel are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a welcoming and supportive primary school in Stanley for a full-time role starting in September.
This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HLTA or a confident Teaching Assistant ready to take the next step, supporting teaching and learning across the school and making a real difference to pupil progress.
The Role
As a HLTA, you will:
- Support the delivery of high-quality teaching and learning across the primary age range
- Lead whole-class sessions in the absence of the class teacher
- Deliver targeted interventions and small group support to pupils
- Work closely with class teachers to plan and prepare learning activities
- Support pupils with varying learning needs, including those with SEND
- Help to create a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment
- Monitor and provide feedback on pupil progress
What We’re Looking For
The ideal candidate will:
- Hold HLTA status or equivalent qualification (or significant relevant experience)
- Have experience working within a primary school setting
- Be confident leading whole-class teaching when required
- Demonstrate strong behaviour management and communication skills
- Be adaptable, proactive, and enthusiastic
- Have experience supporting pupils with SEND (desirable)
- Be reliable and committed to a full-time position

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
