SEN Teaching Assistant

Full-Time | Term Time Only | September Start
We are seeking a caring, patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our supportive school team in Bishop Auckland.
This rewarding role involves supporting pupils with Special Educational Needs to access learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential within a positive and inclusive environment.
The Role
The successful candidate will:
- Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with SEN
- Support children with a range of additional needs including ASD, ADHD, speech and language, and SEMH
- Assist the class teacher in delivering engaging and inclusive lessons
- Help create a safe, nurturing and positive learning environment
- Encourage pupil independence, confidence and social development
- Work closely with teachers, SENCOs, parents and external professionals
We Are Looking For Someone Who:
- Has experience working with children with SEN (school-based or relevant childcare experience)
- Is patient, empathetic and resilient
- Has excellent communication and teamwork skills
- Can build positive relationships with pupils and staff
- Demonstrates a calm and flexible approach
- Holds a relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential)

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
