Job Title: ESOL Tutor

Job Duties:

  • Plan and deliver effective English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) lessons
  • Assess learners' needs and progress to tailor lessons accordingly
  • Provide feedback and support to help learners improve their language skills
  • Create engaging and interactive learning materials
  • Maintain accurate records of learner progress and attendance
  • Be sympathetic and sensitive to learners diverse backgrounds

Required Qualifications:

  • TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) certification
  • Previous experience teaching ESOL to learners

Knowledge and Skills:

  • Strong understanding of language teaching methodologies
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to create engaging lesson plans
  • Proficiency in using technology in teaching

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Postgraduate qualification in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages)
  • Experience working with diverse learner populations

Working Conditions:

This role involves working part-time hours on a temporary basis. The ESOL tutor will primarily work in a home or carehome setting in Dagenham, Greater London, and may need to travel to different locations for teaching assignments.

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
