Salary: MPS/UPS (£23,720 - £29,406)
Teaching Personnel have an opportunity for an outstanding teacher of English to join our partner school in Greater Manchester. Our partner school is Manchester's most over-subscribed school and one of the most successful comprehensive schools in the country. The is an all-through (3-18) Academy of over 1400 pupils with a wide range of abilities, ethnicities and backgrounds. The Academy has a brand new Sixth Form Centre which last year marked the completion of a huge expansion project, so this is a very exciting time to join the school.
Reporting to the Head of the English Faculty, you will be responsible for teaching English from January 2019 until the end of the academic year. You will teach at Key Stages 3 and 4 and the ability to teach English to A level is desirable. You will be an outstanding teacher, delivering consistently good and outstanding lessons, an excellent team player with the highest standards of professionalism and expectations of students. You will have up to date subject knowledge and a track record of success in maximising student progress across all key stages.
As well as being an enthusiastic teacher who is passionate about the teaching of English you will also need to demonstrate a commitment to the extra-curricular life of the school. Within the English Department, a large range of activities take place such as theatre visits, debating and academic support sessions.
