English Teacher - Maternity - One year contract

Teaching Personnel are working on behalf of a client Secondary School in Derby who are looking to recruit an English Teacher to start a full-time role from August 2021 to cover a maternity until July 2022. The School recently received a 'Good' OFSTED report in all areas and are continuously praised for their student achievements.

This is a small 11-16 school who expect an enrolment of 620 students across 5 year groups (Y7 - Y11) from September 2021.

The School:

All pupils in Years 7 to 11 receive 8 lessons on English each fortnight. This includes language and literature, taught by the same teacher. One lesson is dedicated to Creative writing and exploits the School library as a resource. Wherever appropriate, they also aim to enrich the learning experience of our pupils through storytellers, performance poets and live performances.

All candidates MUST:

  • Have a Teaching qualification (QTS/QTLS/PGCE) in English
  • Have the right to work within the UK
  • Have the ability to provide school based references
  • Be available for work full-time starting in August 2021
