English Teacher

Teaching Personnel have been approached by our partner secondary school in Sheffield to recruit for a Teacher of English.

This full time English teaching position is required to start from January 2019 to cover a long term temporary gap within the English department of this high achieving secondary school.

Teacher of English Summary:

• Full time Teacher of English required for a two term cover - January 2019 start
• Planning and delivering English lessons in accordance to the KS3/4 curriculum
• Pay in line with MPS/UPS dependant on experience (£22,917- £38,633)
• Possibility of a fixed-term/permanent contract after the initial supply period due to English department expanding

The incoming English Teacher will join a thriving English department who recently achieved 82% levels 9-4 in the summer's GCSE results. Further the current staff cohort consists of dedicated teachers who strive to make English an enjoyable subject to study.

The school is a large secondary school that currently caters for over 1100 pupils. The large majority of pupils are from White British heritage but the numbers of pupils who speak English as an Additional Language are higher than the national average. The number of pupils considered to be disadvantaged is lower than the national average.

It is situated in North Sheffield making it only a short drive away from the city centre and the surrounding areas of Barnsley, Rotherham, Doncaster and Chesterfield. There are also direct public transport links to the school.
