English Teacher - Wigan

Full time English teacher required to cover an upcoming maternity gap for a mixed comprehensive Secondary school located in the Ince area of Wigan.

  • Full-time English teaching position required immediately to cover a maternity gap from the 1st of December
  • The school wish to interview interested candidates immediately
  • Pay in line with your direct pay scale (MPS/UPS - £23,720- £39,406)
  • Teaching a full English timetable to students aged 11-16 up to GCSE level

Our client Secondary School have highlighted that they would like to meet with interested English teachers as a matter of urgency.

The school are open to applications from English teachers of all experience levels and are welcoming to applications from enthusiastic Newly Qualified Teachers. It is key that the incoming English teacher has the ability to deliver engaging English lessons to students in a collaborative style and has excellent behaviour management skills in order to maintain excellent class control whilst motivating pupils to push beyond their expected grades.

The successful English teacher will take sole responsibility of a complete teaching timetable which will consist of full planning and marking responsibilities.

Our client school

  • The proportion of disadvantaged pupils is significantly higher than the national average and most pupils are of White British heritage.
  • The proportion of pupils who speak English as an additional language is lower than the national average.
  • The school is situated in the centre of Wigan and is in an excellent location if you are traveling via public transport.
  • If commuting by car then the school has onsite car parking and is just minutes away from the A58.
  • Is smaller than the average Secondary school and currently has around 700 pupils on roll
