Due to a restructuring within the English department, this school seek to strengthen their department in the New Year through the addition of an enthusiastic English teacher. Due to additional funding becoming available, the Headteacher wishes to overstaff the English department in order to zone in on progress and attainment. The successful applicant will be required to take on a timetable consisting of both KS3 and GCSE classes, as well as having a key role in delivering intervention within the department.
This secondary school falls under the Liverpool Diocese and is also a leading training school. The school is a larger than average with roughly 1100 pupils on roll. Most students are White British and the proportions of minority ethnic students and of those who speak English as an additional language are below average.
Located on the outskirts of Leigh, bordering Salford, the school is easily accessible via the East Lancashire road from Manchester City centre and has good public transport links from the surrounding areas; Wigan, Bolton, St Helens and Salford.
