Our client secondary school in the heart of Tameside is looking for an enthusiastic English teacher to join their English department following the Easter break. The successful English teacher will be required to teach KS3 and KS4 English on a full time basis covering a maternity leave. This role will therefore be for the final term of this academic year and has the opportunity to continue into the September term aswell depending on the English teacher's availability.
As a full time position, the successful teacher of English will be expected to take on all planning and marking responsibilities. The English department at this reputable secondary school has a very positive reputation and environment with the majority of staff being long standing within the department. The successfully appointed English teacher will therefore have the benefit of collaborating with a team of professionals who are all highly supportive of each other.
Highlights of this English teaching position:
- Full time English teacher required starting Monday 8th April 2019
- Maternity cover for 1 term, possibly 2 into the new academic year 2019/2020
- Pay will be based on teacher's payscale and experience: £23,720 - £39,406
- Full planning and marking responsibilities will be included as part of this teaching position
- Applications are encouraged from teachers of any experience level including NQT to more experienced teachers
This secondary school values an all round strong education for their students ensuring that they are given the education necessary to develop their character. They are therefore looking for a English teacher who can teach enthusiastic English lessons, keeping students engaged with daily school life and supporting them in their journey in becoming a young adult. There will be an element of the timetable where GCSE teaching will be required so any relevant experience of teaching the KS4 curriculum will be beneficial.
If you have any experience of providing Literacy intervention to KS4 students, then please make this known on your application as the school would be interested in this experience.
This secondary school is situated in the heart of Tameside making it very easy to access via public transport and the local motorway network of M60 ring road. For those English teachers that drive, there is a large on site secure car park and for those on public transport; the local train station is a short walk away.
If you are an English teacher due to be available following the Easter break then apply now as the school will be looking to organise the replacement teacher during the spring term ahead of the start date. There could also be the opportunity to take the role on sooner during the latter half of the spring term between March and April with a handover period so please make it known if you are due to be available sooner in this time. Please apply using the link below now with your latest CV.
