We are seeking a KS3/4 English specialist for a role starting in September. The role is covering a maternity absence within the department
This role requires an energetic and a dedicated individual, who can make a significant contribution to our school community by engaging and enthusing students to achieve their very best in the subject. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate impact on student progress, have excellent subject knowledge, be confident teaching KS3 & KS4 and be well-informed on current educational developments and initiatives. You should be an ambitious and dedicated professional who is able to work effectively as part of a team. A willingness to promote extra-curricular activities and support learning outside the classroom will also be required. You should be able to demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the curriculum at these Key stages.
We are seeking a qualified teacher who will:
- be a strong practitioner or demonstrate the potential to be so
- have a clear understanding of the characteristics of high quality teaching and is able and willing to teach across the whole age and ability range
- quickly build rapport and effective professional relationships with both our young people and colleagues
- foster a love of English in our students through their excellent teaching practice and infectious enthusiasm and passion for their subject, motivating students to work hard and try their best
- actively share good practice and seek to explore ways to improve their own and others’ teaching
- work hard to ensure all students make at least expected progress irrespective of their starting point and individual needs
- understand that behaviour management starts with the quality of teaching in the classroom
- demonstrate personal resilience and role model those personal qualities we wish to instil in our young people
