English Teaching Assistant

Teaching Personnel are working closely with a number of schools in the Manchester area, recruiting for English Teaching Assistants to support the Teachers with in class work and extra curricular activities. This is a perfect opportunity for any English Graduates seeking their first position or for any existing English Teaching Assistants seeking a new challenge after half term.

Working as an English Teaching Assistant with Teaching Personnel gives you the opportunity to work on a flexible basis, with both full time and part time hours available at a number of schools in Manchester. As well as this you also have the opportunity to work at a number of different schools to build more experience and gain an insight in to how different schools operate.

  • Full time and part time hours available dependent on your situation and the needs of the schools
  • Get paid weekly whilst earning up to £1300 a month (negotiable)
  • Opportunity to work as an English Teaching Assistant in a number of different schools in the Manchester area, broadening your experience and giving you the opportunity to network
  • Further development opportunities through Teaching Personnel's CPD training courses

Working as an English Teaching Assistant is a very rewarding role where you will face a number of different opportunities and challenges every day. You will be required to support a wide variety of age and ability groups, from high performing year 11's preparing for their GCSE's all the way to year 7 students who may be struggling to adapt to the demands of secondary school education. Although every day will be different, the typical daily responsibilities you will face are:

  • Assisting English pupils on 1:1 or group basis in an attempt to raise attainment across the department
  • Supporting pupils with a variety of issues, whether these are learning, behaviour or SEN related
  • Helping the teacher with the preparation of class work as well as delivery and marking
