English Intervention specialist
Teaching Personnel are recruiting on behalf of an Ofsted rated ‘good’ secondary school in South Sheffield, starting March 2021.
This South Sheffield (S8) secondary school is located in the Norton area roughly 15 minutes off the M1 motorway, it’s also accessible via public transport. The school is a rapidly developing, diverse and innovative academy with an excellent academic record.
The head of student intervention has expressed the need for an English Intervention specialist to provide 1:1 and small group support sessions across all years of the school, but with a focus on helping outlined GCSE students achieve their target grades.
This will include helping students attain passing grades who are currently failing, as well as helping boost students from B grades up the A/A* level. Non GCSE students you will be providing support for will be for students who are currently not reaching age related expectations in reading, this may be due to behavioural issues or English not being their primary language.
The role would usually entail teaching a full English timetable in line with the national curriculum in the schools dedicated SEN annex, although with current school closures it will initially start out as an online teaching role for the foreseeable future.
You will be required to have strong experience as an English educator, this includes those holding QTS, tutors, EAL TA’s with experience working with KS3/KS4 level students specifically. It’s essential to have strong interpersonal skills and elements of behavioural management to help foster an excitement for learning among these students.
- Pay between GBP1200 -GBP1350 per month depending on experience
- March 2021 start date
- Could lead to a Permanent position
- Remote working initially
- Join a highly supportive student intervention team
Any successful applicant would be subject to DBS and Right to work UK checks so relevant documents will be requested.
