English Intervention Graduate

Are you a recent English graduate who has experience working with young people? Are you looking for a new role in a Secondary School from October half term 2019?

Teaching Personnel are working alongside several schools in North Manchester who have noticed a gap in English Intervention support staff. Our client schools are hoping to recruit English Graduates to fill these roles and facilitate pupils who require additional support within English lessons.

  • Part-time roles available following October half term 2019 until the end of the academic year
  • 3 days per week
  • You must have an English degree to be considered for this role
  • Work as an English intervention specialist supporting a number of students
  • Supporting students on a 1:1 basis who require extra literacy focus in order to raise their attainment
  • Earn up to £350 per week, dependent on experience

Working as an English intervention Graduate, you will be:

  • Working alongside class teachers supporting students aged 11-16 in classes.
  • Supporting students who require extra literacy support.
  • Expected to support some students who can show signs of occasional challenging behaviour as a result of their difficulties.
  • Expected to incorporate inventions to aid the student's learning and behaviour with the hopes of raising their progress and attainment.
  • Assisting students on a 1:1 basis when they are withdrawn from English lessons to attend literacy intervention sessions that the prospective candidate should be able to plan and deliver.

To be considered for this English Graduate Intervention role:

  • It is required that you have experience in an educational setting and preferably with individuals who have learning difficulties or require extra support as these skills will be highly transferrable.
  • Must have an English degree or be in your final year of university
  • Our client school would like candidates that are familiar with students that are known to show challenging behaviour and therefore, require extra support with their studies.

Our client is based in Bolton and can be accessed via the M61 and A58 from surrounding areas for those who have their own transportation. For non-drivers, there are several forms of public transport with links to Wigan, Bury and central Manchester.
